As fires continue to burn across the state, and with ongoing hot weather conditions, it is vital Tasmanians follow the advice of the Tasmania Fire Service and the Parks and Wildlife Service and stay informed.

“Total fire bans are in place today in the North and South of the state, with further fire bans declared across the State later this week.” Premier Will Hodgman said.

“Tasmania Fire Service, Parks and Wildlife Service and Sustainable Timber Tasmania have the Government’s full support to do whatever is needed to tackle these fires.”

“Government is working closely with these firefighting agencies, with Cabinet receiving a briefing from representatives this morning.” Minister for Police Fire and Emergency Management Michael Ferguson said.
