Shepparton will have a brand-new fire station at Karibok Park, with Greater Shepparton City Council reaching agreement for the CFA to use the site.

New $12.66 Million station for the area was funded by the Andrews Government to improve service delivery in the community.

“We’re working closely with CFA to make sure Shepparton firefighters have the infrastructure, equipment and training they need to respond to emergencies and keep the community safe.” Minister for Emergency Services James Merlino said.

New location will give Shepparton Fire Brigade more modern and spacious facilities, helping the volunteer members continue their proud history of protecting residential properties and businesses.

State Government is continuing to invest heavily in Victoria’s fire services, funding the infrastructure, training and equipment that is needed to keep communities safe.

“Shepparton Fire Brigade provides a vital service to people and businesses throughout the area, and the new fire station will ensure the community safe from natural disaster.” Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp said.

In this year’s budget, the Government invested $43 Million to upgrade and build new CFA, Victoria State Emergency Service and Life Saving Victoria facilities.

Other funded CFA projects include:

  • $13 Million integrated new fire station in Craigieburn,
  • $2.8 Million to acquire land for a new station to protect Armstrong Creek and surrounding communities,
  • $2.5 Million to upgrade Moe’s fire station.

State budget also allocates $10 Million to the Emergency Services Volunteer Sustainability (ESVS) grants program, which provides training and development grants for emergency service volunteers.
