Northern Territory Government has opened nominations for the 2019 Northern Territory Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards.
Awards like these, celebrate the exemplary work of nurses and midwives who make an impact to the health and wellbeing of Territorians every single day.
“Territorians want and deserve high quality health services and it’s important to celebrate those who help deliver that.” Acting Minister for Health Eva Lawler said.
“I urge Territorians to nominate a nurse or midwife who they know delivers great care and provides leadership to inspire, drive and achieve excellence.”
These awards recognise the unique environment that the Territory’s nurses and midwives work in, which is often complex, challenging and rewarding.
There are 10 award categories across a range of specialist nursing and midwifery areas:
- New to Practice Nurse/Midwife of the Year
- Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery Education
- Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery Research
- Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery Leadership
- Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery Innovation
- Excellence in Aboriginal Healthcare
- Team Award for Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery
- Client Appreciation Award for Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery
- NT Administrator’s Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Nursing/Midwifery
- Nurse/Midwife of the Year
Nominations close Friday 22 February 2019, with awards to be presented Saturday, 11 May 2019.
