Premier Gladys Berejiklian, Minister for Health Brad Hazzard and Member for Oatley Mark Coure officially opened the 9-level centre, which was finished 6 months ahead of schedule.

“Our Government said this project would be fast-tracked and we have delivered yet again for patients, staff and the St. George community.” Premier Berejiklian said.

“This new building with more beds, a new helipad and twice as many operating theatres as before will ensure patients get first-class care, in a first-class facility.”

New Acute Services Building features:

  • A 52-bed intensive care and high dependency unit,
  • Cardiac catheterisation unit,
  • 128 inpatient beds,
  • A sterilising services department,
