Funding Announced For Activate Avoca Stage 1 Project

Upgrades For Community Infrastructure In Avoca

Andrews Government will invest $500,000 in 3 vital projects that will boost tourism, business and jobs in Avoca.

Visiting the region today, Minister for Regional Development Jaala Pulford joined representatives from Pyrenees Shire Council to announce funding for Activate Avoca Stage 1 project.

“We are proud to support these important upgrades, which will mean more people can use and enjoy Avoca.” Minister for Regional Development Jaala Pulford said.

“These upgrades will breathe new life into historic Avoca and ensure that our public streetscapes are modernised and ready for locals and visitors alike.”

Project will include the Business Incubator, which will re-energize the former Avoca Shire offices and provide a collaborative space for start-up businesses and community groups bringing more business to the centre of town.

South Precinct Development

South Precinct Development Railway Art and Gardens Precinct expansion will add a path from the precinct, build new drainage, improve lighting to the carpark and deliver new way-finding and landscaping.

Half-a-million-dollar funding injection will also build New footpaths, landscaping, shelters and seating along High Street to improve trading and dining along the busy strip.

Project will not only create a well-connected, pedestrian friendly town, it will also encourage new visitors to the region boosting local businesses, jobs and opportunities.

Funding comes on top of the State Government’s $208,000 investment towards the construction of an all abilities playground in High Street.

Activate Avoca project is supported by the Andrews Government’s $500 Million Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund, which is investing in projects that make regional Victoria a better place to live, work and do business.
