Regional Economic Development Grants To Stimulate Local Jobs

Applications are now open for the first round of the McGowan Government’s Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants to support community-led projects that drive economic growth and job creation.

“RED Grants provide an opportunity to support community-driven initiatives that stimulate economic growth and opportunities in the regions.” Minister for Regional Development Alannah MacTiernan said.

“Local content considerations will be a key focus in the delivery of projects funded under the program, to help build regional economies and jobs across our vast State.”

A total of $6.25 Million has been allocated for the first year of the program, to be delivered locally by the State’s 9 Regional Development Commissions, this will provide almost $700,000 in each region.

Up to $250,000 is available for individual projects that promote sustainable jobs, partnerships, productivity, skills and capability, as well as stimulate new investment and industry diversification.

RED Grants are available to local governments, training institutions, not-for-profit organisations and registered businesses.
