Andrews Government today announced the appointment of Angela Skandarajah as the new Chief Executive Officer of Development Victoria.

“I congratulate Angela Skandarajah on her appointment as Development Victoria’s Chief Executive Officer.” Minister for Priority Precincts Gavin Jennings said.

“Ms. Skandarajah’s record as Development Victoria’s acting Chief Executive demonstrates she has the experience and skills to deliver projects of state significance on behalf of the Government.”

“Angela is an exceptional leader and I look forward to working closely with her as Development Victoria continues to deliver great projects for our state.” Development Victoria Chairperson James MacKenzie said.

Ms. Skandarajah brings a wealth of leadership and governance experience to the role, most recently as Development Victoria’s acting Chief Executive and General Counsel.

In a career spanning more than 2 decades in the legal profession and property development industry, Ms. Skandarajah has been a partner and the national head of Minter Ellison’s real estate, environment and planning practice.

Ms. Skandarajah has specialised in major infrastructure projects and Crown land development and is a regular contributor to industry bodies on development and real estate issues.

Development Victoria is an important partner in the State Government’s infrastructure program, delivering projects that create cultural and recreational facilities, and bring key urban and regional precincts to life.

Among the 45 projects Development Victoria is currently working on are:

  • Development of the new GovHub in Ballarat,
  • Fishermans Bend and central Dandenong,
  • Melbourne Arts Precinct and State Library Victoria,
  • Precinct renewal at Docklands,
  • Range of projects to improve housing diversity and affordability,
  • Redevelopment of Melbourne Park.

With women making up more than 50 % of its workforce, Development Victoria is leading the way in promoting women in the development industry.
