Northern Territory Muster Premier Destination For Aboriginal Arts And Culture

Victor P Taffa

Hundreds of travel agents in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney are being targeted at the Northern Territory Muster roadshow with the message the Northern Territory is the premier destination for Aboriginal arts and culture.

“Northern Territory Muster is our opportunity to take the Northern Territory to travel consultants who are on the frontline selling the Territory to east coast visitors.” Minister for Tourism Sport and Culture Lauren Moss said.

“Arts and Culture theme highlights the Territory as Australia’s must-do destination to experience exceptional and authentic Aboriginal art and cultural events and products, with a particular emphasis on our recently launched Territory Arts Trail tourism campaign.”

Northern Territory’s rich art and culture is a major drawcard for national and international tourists and a key economic driver.

Northern Territory Government is investing $106 Million to build a nationally significant Arts Trail throughout the Territory to support and grow our arts and cultural industry and provide new and enhanced attractions for national and international visitors.

Northern Territory Muster provides the opportunity to present the progress of the Territory Government’s record $103 Million Turbocharging Tourism package which is bringing thousands more visitors to the Territory, injecting millions of dollars into the economy and creating local jobs.

At the Northern Territory Muster, over 500 travel agents, inbound tour operators and wholesalers will learn more about what the Territory has to offer equipping them with the knowledge and skills to better sell the Northern Territory as a holiday destination to their clients.

For the 34 Northern Territory operators, it is a perfect opportunity to showcase their tourism offerings and learn how to best market and sell their products.

“Kakadu Tourism is excited to be attending Northern Territory Muster this year as it provides direct access to domestic travel agents who are key influencers when it comes to domestic travellers planning their next trip.” Sales and Marketing Manager Kakadu Tourism James Robinson said.

“Kakadu Tourism will update these agents about our recently completed $1.6 Million refurbishments at Cooinda Lodge plus all the amazing experiences in Kakadu coming up this year including: Taste of Kakadu in May, The Northern Territory Travelling Film Festival including a screening of Top End Wedding in June, and we will be sharing some exciting new accommodation options at Cooinda Lodge that will be ready in July this year.”

Northern Territory Muster roadshow commences in Brisbane on 4 March, moves to Melbourne on 6 March and onto Sydney on 7 March.

Operators attending Northern Territory Muster represent accommodation, attractions, touring and transport services right across the Territory including first time exhibitors Alice Springs School of the Air Visitor Centre, Banubanu Beach Retreat, Finke River Adventures, Matt Wright Explore the Wild, Outback Elite Tours and Ramada Suites Zen Quarter.
