Fatal pedestrian collision – Orange
A report will be prepared for the Coroner after the death of a boy in a pedestrian collision in the State’s Central West yesterday.
About 3.30pm, the 8-year-old boy was attempting to cross Racecourse Road in Orange when he was struck by an eastbound Mazda Tribute.
The boy was thrown an unknown distance and suffered serious head and chest injuries.
He was taken to Orange Hospital but died during emergency surgery.
The 33-year-old woman driving the vehicle stopped and is assisting Police with inquiries.
Police from Canobolas Local Area Command and Chifley Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and conducted an investigation.
