Man charged over woman’s death – Griffith

A man will appear in court today charged over the death of a female at Griffith in the state’s South-West.

About 3.55pm yesterday (Monday 18 January 2010), Police went to a unit in Couch Road after a man had provided information to officers at Griffith Police Station.

Police located the body of a 22-year-old woman in the unit, and a crime scene was established.

A three-month-old child was found unharmed at the premises and was later taken to Griffith Base Hospital for further examination.

Strike Force Mountainview was formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

Last night, the 26-year-old man was questioned at Griffith Police Station and later charged with murder.

The man has been refused bail and will appear in Griffith Local Court today (Tuesday 19 January 2010).
