Cyclist killed in collision with truck – Silverwater

Police are appealing for public assistance following a fatal collision at Silverwater in Sydney’s West.

About midday yesterday (Monday 18 January 2010), a collision occurred between a truck and bicycle at the intersection of Carnarvon and Churchill Streets.

The cyclist, believed to be a man aged in his 50s, died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 64-year-old man from Soldiers Point, underwent mandatory drug and alcohol testing at Auburn Hospital and supplied a statement to Police.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are being conducted by officers attached to Flemington Local Area Command, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
