Tasmania Minister for Racing Elise Archer
Get Behind Tasmania’s Thoroughbred Stars
Victor P Taffa
Tasmanians can help get 2 of the State’s top thoroughbreds into one of the world’s richest races by voting for Mystic Journey and Hellova Street to make the field for the $5 Million All Star Mile race at Flemington in March.
All-Star Mile is the only race in Australia where the horses are selected by popular vote, and of the 130 nominations, there are 2 Tasmanian thoroughbred horses that are a chance of making the final field:
- Hellova Street,
- Mystic Journey.
Hellova Street
8-year-old gelding Hellova Street has been named the Tasmanian Horse of the Year for the past 2 years.
Mystic Journey
Star filly Mystic Journey has won 6 of her 9 starts, including 2 feature races in the Melbourne Spring Carnival.
“As Tasmanian Minister for Racing I’m joining TasRacing in encouraging Tasmanians attending Sunday’s Hobart Cup to vote for our Tasmanian stars.” Minister for Racing Elise Archer said.
“These horses need our help to qualify, and I encourage every Tasmanian to get behind them and vote before the 18th of February.”
